I. Teaching objectives:

●Language objectives:

1. Asking Wh- questions to find out specific information. eg. What happens when water boils?

2. Using connectives to show the time relationship between 2 actions. eg. When water boils, it turns into steam.

●Ability objectives:

1. Recognize the differences in the use of intonation.

2. Open and maintain an interaction by asking and answering questions.

3. Develop written texts by expressing own ideas.

4. Know the three forms of water and how it changes.

●Emotional objectives:

1. know the importance of water.

II. Main focus & Difficult points:

1. Using connectives to show the time relationship between 2 actions. eg. When water boils, it turns into steam.

IV. Teaching procedure:

Pre-task preparation	1. Play the slide show with music.	Listen to the music and watch the beautiful pictures about water.	Lead in the topic.
	2. A competition about water.	Have a competition among 4 groups.	To warm the class and review something about water.
	3. Show the pictures about three forms of water. Teach the words.	Look at the pictures and learn the three forms: ice water steam	Know the three forms of water. Know how to pronounce each word and phrase correctly and how to spell them.
	4. ask: How does ice become water? How does water become steam? How does stream become water? How does water become ice? teach the words & phrases.	Learn the new words & phrases: freezes, boils, cools down, melts
	5. Brainstorm: What happens when there is no water?	Answers: when there is no water…	Review the sentence pattern.
While-task procedure	1. Play the recording.	Listen to the text and complete the sentences according to the text.	To understand the dialogue.
	2. Play the recording and ask students to repeat.	Read the text after the tape.	To understand the dialogue.
	3. Water experiment: Tell the students how to do the experiment. ask them to do the choice and answer the questions.	Choose the correct answers. Answer the questions by given words.	Practice the target sentence structure: When…,it turns into…
	4. Water Quiz ask the students to do water quize.	Do Water Quiz. Write down on their books	To consolidate the target sentence structure
Post-task activity	Show the pictures about water in the nature.	Work in groups of four, tell something about the changes of water.	To produce outcome
Assignment	1. Oral-work: Read the text. Think of the importance of water in our life. 2. Written-work: Copy the text. Workbook page 64 and 70.
